The parts

Everything a roster needs.
Nothing it does not.

Six pieces, each doing one job, tuned so that the distance between "we need eight people Saturday" and eight confirmed names is about ten minutes.

  • 01

    Instant teams

Open a link and the team exists. Nothing to download, nothing to authorise, no spreadsheet to import first.

  • 02

    Shifts, not spreadsheets

Set the slots and the headcount. Volunteers pick their own from a phone, and a full shift closes itself.

  • 03

    Reminders that land

A text the day before and an hour before. Replies come back as confirmed, running late, or cannot make it.

  • 04

    Attendance, counted

Tap who showed up. Hours roll into a report your board and your funder will both accept.

  • 05

    Works offline

Check-in keeps working in a hall with no signal, then syncs when a bar comes back.

  • 06

    Export anything

Every roster, every shift, every hour, out to a spreadsheet in one click. Your data is never stuck here.

Teams on Kestrel

Made by people
between other jobs.

A rolling wall of the team badges people make when they open their first roster. Every one of them started as one shift on a Saturday.

The run

Ten minutes,
start to roster.

  1. Step 01

    Open a team

One click makes a team with an empty week and a private link. It exists the moment you land.

  2. Step 02

    Add your people

Type names or paste a list. Each person gets a text with their own link, no password to forget.

  3. Step 03

    Build the week

Drag out the shifts, set a headcount on each, and hit repeat if next week looks the same.

  4. Step 04

    Let them pick

Volunteers claim shifts from their phone. Full shifts close. Gaps show in red until they do not.

  5. Step 05

    Count and send

Tap who came. Hours roll up. Export the month for the board on the last Friday.

Questions

The things people ask twice.

Do volunteers need an account?

No. Each person gets their own link by text. Tapping it opens their shifts. There is no password because there is nothing to protect that a link does not already protect.

Where does our data live?

In Canada, on servers we rent, encrypted at rest. You can export everything at any time, and deleting a team deletes it everywhere within a day.

What do the texts cost?

Nothing extra on any plan. Reminder texts are included, in Canada and the United States. Elsewhere, ask us.

Can two of us coordinate?

On Community and up, yes. Both coordinators see the same week and the same replies, and either can fill a gap.

What if we outgrow it?

Export and leave. Your rosters, shifts and hours come out as plain spreadsheets that open anywhere. We would rather you left cleanly than stayed stuck.
