The number, before you ask.

Most studios make you email them to find out whether you can afford a conversation. You cannot put that in a grant application, so here are the actual figures.

Every project is a flat fee against a written scope. The number does not move unless you ask for something that was not in it.

Flat feeNever hourly guesswork
$0Hosting, permanently

Four sizes.

These are our standard rates, for businesses and organizations alike. Nonprofits and community organizations pay roughly 25% less, shown on each tier. From means the price for the scope listed. Add to the scope and the quote says by how much, before you agree to it.

Software is quoted, not tiered.

Applications, registration systems, dashboards, booking flows and real-time software are not sold by the page and we will not pretend otherwise. Describe what you need and you get a written scope and a single number, at no charge.

The websites above are built by the same people to the same standard. The difference is what runs underneath. The client dashboard, which staff sign in to and edit every word of their site from, and Sentinel are the proof.

$10,000+Applications and systems
$0To scope it and quote it

The tiers above cover most websites, including for businesses. A project lands here when it needs accounts, integrations, or something genuinely custom underneath. We will tell you which side of that line you are on before quoting.

After launch, nothing is required.

Hosting is free, the editor is included, and if something we built stops working we fix it. The only thing we sell by the month is our time, and only if you want it.

Included, no clock on it.

  • Hosting, $0. A static site runs at no monthly cost on accounts in your name. There is nothing to renew.
  • The editor and the dashboard. Staff change any word themselves and see the visits, the questions and the speed. Free, permanently. If you leave, every word stays in plain files in your own accounts, with the history of every change, and your staff can still edit those files without us.
  • Broken is free. Anything we built that stops working, we fix. No clock on it.
  • A ninety day review. We read the speed, the visits and what people asked the assistant, with you, and make the changes it shows.
  • After that, $125 an hour when you want a change made for you. Most take less than one.
Optional

Hands off

For the organization that would rather send us the change than make it.

$195A month. Cancel any month.

About $375 of work at our hourly rate

  • Three hours of changes a month, made for you
  • A monthly read of your numbers, and the changes that follow
  • Two business days
  • Nothing switches off when you cancel
Ask about Hands off

One recurring cost is not ours. On Standard and Full the assistant runs on an account in your name and costs a few dollars a month in usage. We tell you the number before it goes live.

What the number covers.

  • Design. Drawn for your organization, not adapted from a theme, with two rounds of revisions.
  • Build and testing. On real devices and browsers, not a simulator.
  • Hosting setup. Configured and handed over in your name, at no ongoing cost.
  • Content migration. Moving your existing text and images across.
  • Handover documentation. Written in plain language for whoever inherits the job.
  • A training session. We walk one person through updating the site, live.

What it does not.

  • Copywriting. We will edit and structure what you have, but we do not write your program descriptions from nothing. We can quote it separately.
  • Photography. Your photos, or stock you have licensed.
  • Domain registration. Roughly $25 a year, paid by you, registered in your name.
  • Third-party fees. Payment processors, donation platforms and the assistant's usage take their own cut, on your own accounts.

How it is billed.

  • Half to start, half at handover. The second half is due when the site goes live, not before.
  • You can stop after the designs. If you see the first designs and they are not right, walk away there and owe nothing beyond the deposit. Whatever exists is yours.
  • Grant-funded work can pay on delivery. If your funding rules require invoicing after completion, say so and we will structure it that way.
  • Hands off is monthly. Billed in arrears, cancel any month, and nothing switches off when you do.
  • Quotes hold for sixty days. Long enough to get through a board meeting.
  • No deposit to talk. Scoping and quoting are free, including the part where we tell you what we would fix.

Hiding prices is a sales tactic.

A hidden price means the number gets decided after we have worked out what you can afford. We would rather publish it and be judged on whether the work is worth it.

If these numbers do not fit your budget, tell us the budget. Sometimes the answer is Ready, sometimes there is a smaller version worth building, and sometimes the honest answer is that you should wait. We will say which.
